A Message From The Executive Director:
I make this announcement with a heavy heart. Without a significant donor or group of donors to underwrite our operations for 2015, Jacob’s Light Foundation will be forced to shut our doors by December 31, 2014.
While we have worked tirelessly to raise awareness and secure donations to support our charitable work, we cannot sustain meaningful packings for our troops on a regular basis.
We will continue to work within our mission and organize one final holiday packing on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
This is a sad time for everyone who has supported Jacob’s Light Foundation, but it also has been an amazing journey. Together we have reached HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of America’s most selfless and courageous men and women who answered the call of duty to serve our great nation!
Together, we have provided comfort and support when they needed it most. Together, we have made an impact and bettered their lives. Our troops have consistently thanked Jacob’s Light for all our support, warm wishes, and meaningful items from home. Throughout these past 11 years you have lifted me from depths of sorrow from the loss of my son, to walking strong with purpose in his memory.
THANK YOU for all of your hard work, dedication and commitment to supporting our troops! Personally I extend my deepest gratitude to every one of you who has embraced the legacy of my hero, my son, Jacob.
With Deepest Appreciation,
Jacob’s Light Foundation
Supporting Our Troops
Through the generous help of donors, sponsors and volunteers, Jacob's Light Foundation reaches a monthly goal of sending up to 10,000 pounds of supplies to our deployed military servicemen and women stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Once a month, volunteers gather to carefully pack boxes with toiletries, food, reading and writing materials, socks, phone cards, bug repellent, batteries, sunscreen and other items that are necessities for our troops. Special items and treats are included for the holidays, as well as seasonal articles. Letters of support and encouragement, in addition to letters and pictures from children, are also enclosed in the packages. In between the monthly packings, supplies are purchased and organized by volunteers for the next packing.
